Grow Veggies On Your Patio, Simple!
I live in a Community where gardening is restricted to our patios, and thanks to Pinterest I have been able to find some really neat ideas. Any time I am out on a weekend and see a garage sale, I keep my eyes open for baskets of all sizes, particularly large ones. So first things first, COMPOST. It used to seem so complicated, then a light went off. I was complicating it! We took a large basket and began our compost, but in the meantime for our garden we needed to invest in some soil.
Then I took an old bookshelf from the kids room that had been colored on and the back was falling off and flipped it on it's back right on top of the patio, filled it with soil and Voila an above ground garden bed. Now, either throw some seeds that you saved on your own and dried, or bought and sprinkle them in your bed. Or, go get a few plants, they are about 3.00 each and herbs are the safest bet to start practicing on. Basil is easy, tasteful, super good for you and loves the heat. (Florida Friends) Don't over water, check your soil every day in the summer and when it begins to dry, that is a good sign to water.
